Toadstool

We recently went to a Country Fair at Brocklesby Park where there were lots of talented crafts people showing and selling their wares. We bought a toadstool that had been carved by a talented tree surgeon with a chain saw. It is all in one piece and the grain of the wood is beautiful to look at.

Wigwam for Grandchildren

Unfornunately the past few weeks I have neglected my blog due to other busy committments but have kept up to date with what others have been doing. Karen inspired me with her quilt making and therefore last weekend I decided to have a go. My workroom is overloaded with fabric upholstery samples so it also was a way of de cluttering. It turned out okay but room for improvement next time.

Due to the quality of the fabrics it is quite heavy so I thought it could be used for a garden blanket. My creativeness then took over and I decided to make another wigwam for the children who visit. For those of you who have seen my earlier blogs, I made one last summer for my grandchilren.

Once finished it looks fine and Tito cat thought it was a good resting place for him out of the sunshine. Next week it will be put to the test as my nieces are coming over with their children, Pheobe, Molly and Finlay, lets hope that the sun keeps shining.

We have been enjoying the best ever weather for quite some time now and it shows in the garden. The grass is very dry and almost brown rather than a lush green and the plants need plenty of watering to stay alive. However we are all loving it had hope we get a few more weeks of it to enjoy.

At The Altar
Went to David and Laura's Wedding on Saturday at a delightful village church in Stallingborough, North East Lincolnshire. The service was conducted by a female minister who had pink streaks in her hair but this did not affect her very nice and cheerful service. She had also conducted the service for the brides sister exactly one year ago which was quite sentimental for her and the family.
Unforntunately it rained for most of the day but the very entusiastic photographer still managed to get us all together for lots of unusual photographs.
The evening celebrations were supported with a disco and an exeptional live band to which the majority of guests danced to, until well past midnight. So tired today...........

Unfortunately I have been neglecting my blog due to an over load of work. We also bought a new computer which brought along additional problems. Having being used to XP for so long, Vista has taken some getting used to but hey we got there in the end.........
Perhaps the wrong time to change over, when so much time has been dedicated to setting up the new website. Spreadsheets, Data bases, making sure all the relevant information is correct. Scanning so many fabric samples was so tedious, however it has all been so rewarding as we are almost there, thankfully. So much to do and such little time to do it all but it does keep the brain active being so busy, so they say!!!!

Accross the Humber

Humber Bridge
Julian's Bower in Alkborough

We drove accross the Humber Bridge from our home in North Lincolnshire to Hull today which is only around 20 miles with lovely views accross the Lincolnshire and Yorkshire countryside. Up until a few years ago the bridge used to be the longest single span bridge in the world. Just a few miles up the road in Alkborough there is the oldest Medieval maze called Julian's Bower which is also worth a visit on a bright sunny day as the views there over the Humber estuary are quite specacular.

Flowers

It has been a busy few days with Julian away in Belgium, visiting fabric mills to source new fabric designs with a client. Thursday evening I had a girls night in with a few friends around, some very kindly brought me flowers for the occassion. This inspired to to take pictures of floral arrangements I have around my home.

Sunday cycling

We have had some glorious weather over the past few days which encouraged us to get out the cycles and enjoy the countryside which surrounds us.
